   Interview with Dr Morcos
   Profile on Dimiana

I share my experiences from Shams El Birr with you all because of the powerful wave of love that fills my being every time I connect with Dr. Morcos or the children and workers there. Love like this I believe needs to be shared. We humans have become conditioned to generally readily share negative or depressing experiences of life which tend to sway our focus from the love and good in life. I prefer to avoid placing attention on anything but the good and if all I give my attention to is good then all my life will be filled has to be good!

Love is unconditional in every way
Life without love is dark meaningless lonely and bleak
Life without love renders a soul unfulfilled and incomplete
Life without love has no purpose
Life without love leaves us hopeless
Life without love is tragic to befall
Life without love is no life at all!
Love is always close it’s never out of reach
Love is the virtue of which we should teach
Love binds life to the reality of ‘All is one’
Love is the seed from which life was begun
Love is far too precious to overlook or ignore
Love is what we are; it’s our foundation, our very core.
The power of love is limitless and unsurpassed
The power of love endures; it will always last
The power of love instantly moves the seemingly unmovable
The power of love transforms the impossible to the achievable!
The power of love has potential greater than any other power to date
The power of love is yours for the grasping, so grasp it now don’t hesitate!
Love is forgiving and kind it’s never jealous or greedy
Love doesn’t experience being depressed, lonely or needy
Love’s power will fill your life with joy and blessings every single day
Love’s power is the answer to peace and happiness in every solitary single way
Love’s power is the solace we each seek from the very moment of birth
Love’s power reminds us all constantly of our value and our worth
Love’s power in life is infinite and never-ending
Love’s power is real; there can be no pretending
Love’s power is the source of life and its fuel I repeat
Love powers us to live life in peace, whole and complete!

Nineteen year old Dimaina has become very special to me during the years of my involvement with Shams El Birr. She has an engaging smile together with a heart so big that it almost wraps itself around all those she meets!

Her firm sincere hugs convey genuine love towards all those who are fortunate enough to experience her embrace. One senses making an eternal connection with this precious young woman as she rarely instigates letting go simply because it seems she never wants to!

I met Dimiana when she was much younger but her love was then no less obvious, engaging or real.

Dimiana is only one of many of the special loving family at Shams El Birr. All the children in Dr. Morcos’s care have unique histories that brought them to him, and naturally most will tug at your heart strings. Today I will profile Dimiana’s in the hope of bringing more awareness of life to others. Dimiana is of course no longer a child but she was when she arrived at Shams El Birr and it is because of Dr. Morcos and his team that she has progressed to being the vital energetic young woman that she is today!

Dimiana is deaf; she is the youngest member of a traditional Upper Egypt moderate standard family background. This is not a city style background; this is an agricultural background. Her parents were elderly at the time of Dimiana’s birth and so Dimiana’s eldest sister took on the role of mother even though physically disabled herself.

Dimiana was extremely close to her sister and so when her sister married Dimiana was initially hysterical. She was desperately lonely and upset as she had not built up a relationship with any other family members including her parents. Dimiana’s life at that time became empty and meaningless. She merely existed until she found Shams El Birr where her life has over time taken on meaning and purpose. Joy oozes from every cell in Dimiana’s being these days. She is a very special shining guiding light at Shams El Birr where she is always willing to help other challenged children. She also loves helping in the kitchen.

Dimiana arrived at Shams El Birr on August 31st in the year 2000. Dr. Morcos describes Dimiana as a very special kind girl with a huge loving heart and wonderful smile. She has now been at the centre for almost eight years. Shams El Birr has become home to Dimiana and she in turn makes everyone at the centre feel at home in her presence. She completed her formal education in the year 2006 and has since been accepted into a nearby deaf school where she is continuing her next level of education.

Dimiana’s life is now full and progressing well. Besides her studies Dimiana excels in handicraft work particularly leatherwork, weaving and glass painting. She thoroughly enjoys her time at the centre and will gain a rehabilitation certificate which will enable her to find employment.

Dimiana’s parents are still alive but have no plans to accept her back into their lives. Dr. Morcos and his team are more than happy to have Dimiana as a permanent part of their family. Dr. Morcos feels that it is in Dimiana’s best interest to remain at the centre where he can offer her the much needed guidance that would normally come from parents to prepare her for her adulthood, and besides there are many more programs still available to Dimiana that will also benefit her future life.

Dimiana’s home at Shams El Birr is secure. She will remain there permanently or until such time that she may marry. Dr. Morcos hopes to create a special project for Dimiana which relays to her that she has purpose and is of service to others in life. He furthermore hopes that the project yet to be decided upon will help support her in the future.

Dimiana is a shining example of the power of love. Love has taken her from a state of desperation to a state of joy and meaning in life. Before August 2000 life seemed hopeless for Dimiana but now eight years on her life is filled with love and hope which is constantly mirrored out to the world through her eyes!

Sure the fuel of money is required to for Shams El Birr to function but the more important fuel that ignites numerous miracles into reality at Shams is love. Love is the greatest power in our universe. Love is the seed of all purposeful creation. Love can conquer all!

I share my experiences from Shams El Birr with you all because of the powerful wave of love that fills my being every time I connect with Dr. Morcos or the children and workers there. Love like this I feel needs to be shared. Humans have become conditioned to generally readily share negative or depressing experiences of life which tend to sway our focus from the love and good in life. I prefer to avoid placing attention on anything but the good and if all I give my attention to is good then all my life will be filled has to be good!
