~IN SEARCH of the SELF~

The time has come to bask in silence and solitude in search of my authentic true self
Instinctively I know that for far too long I’ve essentially been living as someone else
Living the expectations of others, traditions and cultures has definitely been no fun
If I allow this to go on any longer possible psychological damage will be done!
I’ve played the game of trying to satisfy countless conditioned expectations
Now I have to take the challenge of finding me; there can be no more hesitations!
Unfortunately my real self, I have now come to realise
Has been masked and trapped in camouflaged disguise
My soul has been caged, imprisoned and confined
Disempowered by dictatorial controlling minds
Suddenly the pain of restriction has become too much to bare
To bow to the expectations of others is decidedly unfair!
I was born an individual and an individual I am meant to be
The time has come for the real me to emerge to be free
When I finally relinquish this fear filled control
I will be reborn; happy complete and whole!
My spirit will be lightened and it will to soar to great heights
My life will become a journey of countless adventurous flights
In my solitude and silence I know that I will find
My authenticity together with eternal peace of mind!
