Cairo is a bustling city of contrasts. There are many facets to this metropolis and I love being among them all. Every day that
I live in Cairo I see more and more of life but perhaps that is because every day I look and seek for more and more of life!
Because Cairo is so far out of my
previously familiar lifestyle in Australia I am still drawn in fascination to so many aspects of her
life even after almost seven years of mingling within her sights and energy.
My life here seems to be one on-going adventure even though many things are currently so well-known to me.
The spirit of the true Egyptian touches my heart. Foreigners like me who have a never-ending passion for exploring encroach in many areas of private life here but are always made to feel welcome by the majority of locals. When we approach them with a pure heart and genuine
smile they sense honest sincerity and respond in like. Egyptians are basically warmed hearted, hospitable, loving people with a great sense of humour. Nothing gives them greater pleasure
than to share a cup of tea and a few laughs with
a guest. They know how to appreciate and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. I have been reminded while living here of the numerous simple pleasures of life that can so easily be forgotten by many of us in the hustle and bustle of day to day main stream life!
In this section of my site I will take you on tours of Egyptian my life. I will try
to do most touring via photographs as photos always speak louder than words; however I’m sure there will be many times when I add more words than
probably necessary to each page. Feelings of emotion regularly stir within me
as I walk Cairo’s ancient streets and I am continually inspired to share these feelings
with others.

I sincerely believe that it is the way Egypt makes touches my spirit rather than what she offers me via her sights and ancient monuments during my journeys of exploration that captures my soul. In Egypt my soul feels at home and mostly, except when I allow unrest into its presence, in complete peace. This is something I have been seeking my
whole life and in this land so vastly different
from Australia which is so very dear to me
I have found my soul purpose which automatically brings me inner peace.
Australia nurtured me and gave me an incredibly strong foundation for which I will be ever grateful. This foundation has enabled me to become the person
I am today and thus support me in living my life in Egypt in the manner I know
it is meant to be lived. The balance of these two contrasting cultures has completed me!
Sure Egypt’s history is amazing and draws millions of tourists regularly to her doorstep. I was no different to these millions on my first visit here but almost instantaneously to my surprise I discovered that it was the SPIRIT of EGYPT today via the spirit of her people that immediately held me captive and still continues to do so. The energy of these people is most definitely unique and in countless ways extremely charismatic! I am genuinely honoured to live as I do.
I sincerely feel that my soul has been led to where it is meant in the scheme of creation!

Life around me
In this link I hope to show you certain areas of
Cairo I visit mainly on foot. I love walking as it
takes me into the heart of life. The slower I approach life the more I see of life. I’ve discovered that sadly the very popular vehicle of impatience these days regularly causes so many of us to miss
a considerable number of very special aspects of
life.

Soul Observations
My soul has now become my observatory of life; it carefully observes surrounding scenes, then it triggers my mind to delve for a greater understanding of that which my eyes see. My vision of life is now much clearer and much, much greater! More...
